We are  attempting to do away with the usage of floppy discs. They tend to be more easily broken and more and more are wasted throughout the year. (Especially when students toss them in their backpacks!) Though we will continue to have Floppies on hand, we would greatly encourage students in 5th thru 8th grades to purchase a USB flash drive, also known as a “thumb” or “jump” drive. Drives are available as low as $10 (or sometimes cheaper if you really search around for them) at your local office store or Wal-mart or Target. An overly expensive drive is rather unnecessary since the students would not need such an advanced drive at their age. If you do choose to purchase one PLEASE label the drive with your child’s name. A website on how to use flash drives can be found at the bottom of the page.
